Just spent three days with five other teachers at the Dept of Ed - TopicsExpress

Just spent three days with five other teachers at the Dept of Ed re-writing Science 1206s Chemistry Unit. It was always awesome walking into that meeting room in years past, wondering whos going to be there, and then seeing Kerry Clarke there. When that was the case, you knew you were going to get the job done, but as importantly, you were going to have a great laugh doing so. After I put her up a few times, near the end of the first day I leaned back and said, Shit, being here reminds me so much of Kerry Clarke, and all of the good times we had doing this. Then two of the teachers there - Don Penney and Peter Bishop - nodded right away. They knew Kerry too, and we all started reminiscing about what a great guy Kerry was, and how much he meant to us, and how he was such an amazing teacher and an amazing person. It was a great moment - you get to feel someones legacy in a moment like that. I wished Kerrys immediate family could have been there in that moment, to see how much he is still remembered, respected, and loved. Kerry touched so many in so many positive ways. Im honoured to have known him. Miss you big guy. (PS. The last time I saw Kerry was at one of these meetings a few years back; as he left a little early for his trek back out around the bay, he was saying his See ya laters, so I got up and gave him a Doug Gilmour / Don Cherry beauty kiss on the cheek. We put everyone rolling in laughter again, and that was his send off for the Department of Education. Awesome.)
