"Just waiting for this day to come to an end!" How often do I say this? Perhaps even yesterday, as it went on raining throughout the day and I could not go out for that picnic or walk I had planned. Yeah. Yesterday came to an end. BUT, a DAY of my life is gone! And that day will NEVER ever come back. I am one day older, and one day closer to my death. One day of fun or learning or pleasure is gone. True, I could not have my picnic. But, rather than just wait for the day to finish, could I make the day a useful or pleasant one, nevertheless? Not necessarily to work or to produce. Maybe, just to relax, consciously. Put on some music, pick up a novel, or the newspaper or a magazine..... call up friends and relatives we have ignored for a while...... The day will not have just "passed". I would have some fun, pleasure, knowledge or joy out of it.
