Just watched the new Steven Seagal movie FORCE OF EXECUTION, costarring australian Tae Kwon Do extraordinaire and world-champ BREN FOSTER. The highlight of the movie was when Bren goes mano-a-mano against Guro RON BALICKI [FMA & JKD Concepts senior instructor], in a slug-fest that starts with them going at it with barehands, then Sifu Ron takes out a short blade and Bren resorts to using a piece of plastic sheeting as a rope and utilizes Sarong techniques from Pentjak Silat. Sifu Ron takes out another short blade, the Karambit, and they go at it again, and when he loses the first knife, Sifu Ron replaces it with a short stick, now using stick and knife: beautiful illustration of the progression in combat principles from FMA [Filipino Martial Arts]. It was good to see Sifu Ron demonstrating that even well into his 60s, he can still mix it up with someone of Bren Fosters calibre. Much respect to Sifu Ron. Top notch fight scene, the overall movie is worth watching just for Bren Fosters performance. Its the second movie that Steven Seagal has starred with Bren [The first being MAXIMUM CONVICTION], and its good to see that Mr Seagal doesnt mind giving the young aussie champ his turn in the spotlight. Good movie! Put it on your must-watch list! (Y)
