Just when you think you have a working relationship with a school, they screw you. School was faxing documents to me. Said they had faxed what they offered to fax at the last meeting it. However, my electronic fax failed to put it in my email. I needed it faxed again. However, since the meeting was this afternoon, I suggested I just come in to spend some time with the file this morning, so we are ready for the meeting and just have someone fax the stuff later when they have a moment. Response NO. Really? They have a release form from the mother that gives me access. They are denying me information they already tried to get to me. So, what do you suppose is in the file that they dont want us to see? Guess we will have to find out before we schedule another meeting. I do not go when we are not prepared. Especially when this a make or break meeting about going to due process. So, now I have written a formal request for documents for which they have 15 school days to respond. That is IL law. I foolishly thought we were past this crap. This could have been so simple. Lesson learned. Ask formally 15 school days prior to the meeting no matter what.
