No surprises there as this is Mr. Paratas marae where he is hoping to get as much support as he can muster to back him. All i can say is Good luck with that. A LONG READ AHEAD :) After my hui with the CEO of Te Rununganui o Ngati Porou on the 17th of September 2014 where I was told that $1200 had been paid back by the Erana Keelan Reedy I was told that some of my accusations had been substantiated.I of course repeatedly said that the RNP BOT and the CEO of RNP need to be stood down or removed. Of course TRONP has no jurisdiction over the staff of RNP but what about there 2 reps Mr.Selwyn Parata and April Papuni? Those 2 have been negligent in not seeing this matter needed to be dealt with ASAP. They had a responsibility as board members to fix these problems but turned a blind eye and why was that? Well in my personal opinion this whole matter would have made them 2 look stupid. Guess what? Now they are really looking stupid :) I believe that Mr. Parata is refusing to stand down as Chair for RNP so that is where we are going to need all the support. Please make an effort to attend this hui as we need to have him removed. This is an injustice to our iwi if we let him get away with it and continue with his outrageous antics. MR. PARATA HAS TO GO!!!! Not just himself of course but also the rest of the board who will then be replaced with a whole new BOT. The new BOT will then decide the future for the present RNP CEO Erana Keelan Reedy. Mr. Parata must think us really stupid if he is trying to suggest that he knew nothing of his 1st cousin Mr. Arnold Reedys dishonesty. The news on Mr. Reedy went nationwide when he went missing in Auckland.Mr. Paratas own close family would have bought that to his attention. Also strange is the fact that while this was all going on in Auckland that the neighbors of Erana and Arnold had spotted Mr. Parata. Coincidence? I would say not!!! Lets just say that he did not know about this .... I emailed him and April Papuni about Arnolds dishonesty which he chose to ignore. A week ago I gave the manager a memo before staff was interviewed about restructuring. I heard a lawyer was coming to my 2nd interview and asked former manager Heni to come as my support person. She agreed only if it was accepted by the.manager. Kody came as mediator but for restructuring as she did not know about my grievance memo. I asked for a response to my first letter and was told it wasnt signed so the Manager (Barb) didnt think I was serious. That advice was taken and that my memo was another matter. Before we started I gave Both the manager and Heni a copy of the report I am sending you. Barb looked at the front page and before things got out of hand Heni advised the manager to put the process on hold and attend to issues of concern and to deal in house with it as I should not be expected to reapply for my position within an environment that was unsafe. Everyone present agreed and the meeting ended. I was told it would take two days to sort and respond. I have just today the 1st April 2014 received a response from my 2nd letter. My work at Radio Ngati will end on the 2nd of April according to Barbs letter. To follow are serious allegations that need to be investigated. I do not write this kind of thing out of spite but because I know that this is undoubtedly a corrupt situation. This is why I now forward you all a copy of what I gave the Manager of Radio Ngati Porou on the 26th of March 2014: Managers family liaisons at workplace aka Radio NP 1. Your husband Arnold Reedy has criminal allegations of theft at Hikurangi Foodmarket was serious enough to have him permanently removed from the radio station 2. Further theft from Gisborne Warehouse during presence of staff member had a direct impact on staff morale but he was still able to enter work premises during and after hours and put staff and organization at risk 3. Being the last one at the building and leaving back door of RNP unlocked and taking the key home with him. On numerous occasions left the alarm unset and get called out by security. 4. Arnold (your husband) has a felony record but has access to the station and financial delegations. He therefore has the freedom to manipulate data in the accounts computer AFTER the staff member responsible (Mere) has left the premises. 5. I have raised this matter previously with you about him being a security risk but you have breached management staff relationships by allowing his freedom in the radio and to all hardware to continue? You have abused your position of Manager financially and morally with no concern for staff who have to live with this abuse and misconduct daily. 6. I have no recourse but to ask that you resign from your position as the CEO of Radio Ngati Porou forthwith or I shall take my concerns to a higher level. 7. Staff morale is at a low at the moment because of this situation. They know that what I am saying is correct. It seems to me that you are more concerned about the coming awards to get yourself in the spotlight once again then taking care of business at the work place. I am trying to sort this in-house. Don’t want any media swarming our Radio Station that the ones before you have established as one of the best iwi stations (If not The Best) in New Zealand. I for one am sure that your husband Arnold does not want to hit the headlines again. If you think I am the only one in this fight for justice here that would be a very stupid assumption. I have some big guns hopping on board. Did Arnold tell you he approached me yesterday 25th March 2014? “George? I think we should have a talk” “About what”? I said.. “The letter you gave my wife” I said “I have nothing to say”. “Well I think we should have a talk” I said “anything you have to say to me … put in writing” I was closing down the Dalet on all computers to reboot the server and he followed me around. Look threatening to me. “Why did you say my wife is corrupt”? he said. Again I repeated. “Whatever you have to say put it in writing” (Heavy frustrated breathing from Arnold) …. But I had no time to muck around waiting for him to throw the first punch. Looked like he wanted too. It felt to me that is what he came storming out back door for … Ken said he looked like he was chasing after me past the studio window. Glad he didn’t do anything else stupid. He could have got hurt. This issues I have may not look important as you will probably go through it with your lawyer to rip it apart but it’s only the beginning. A hornets’ nest is just waiting to explode and sting should you want to take this further. You may speak te reo fluently unlike myself but at least when I say I love this iwi it comes from the heart. It turns my stomach inside-out knowing what you are doing to your own tribe. I really want to put this out there to my people and feel guilty in not doing so. It hurts me that you hurt them and for this reason I confront you on all these issues. Do the right thing. If this is not a corrupt Management … I need to go back to school. Further to the above letter … on 3 – 4 occasions we have had money stolen from the safe which was quickly swept under the carpet. Money taken from reception desk. We all know that Arnold had access to Meres’ office and the safe when she was away on those occasions as well as being at the station when the money went missing from reception. We had “Never Ever” in my time with RNP had this happen. Not until they arrived. Handling our accounts? Well I can only say this. Once a thief always a thief (In his case always). I had no feedback on the accounts that Arnold has been pulled up on. If I were you guys, I would seriously get another accountant for the BOT and get them to check his work which he has already done for you. We come from a different breed of the Reedy whanau and each and everyone one of us needs to be accountable for our actions. This matter is far from over as far as I am concerned. Far from it.. Just making sure that at least two of the BOT are aware of the situation. Below is a response to my redundancy letter from Barb: Thank you for responding to my letter which I gave you on the 26th of March 2014. With myself and Mere who will no doubt be the other to receive a similar letter … that will leave a clear pathway for your husband Arnold to step back into accounts. We know that the Nui is not yet ready to take this on but kei te pai tera. You think we have not thought that through? The staff that remain and those that have left is very aware of the all the misgivings that you and Arnold have contributed to RNPs’ financial situation and for this reason I will carry on the fight. I have no gripes with you or Arnold personally but I attack the actions of the way you both have mismanaged Radio Ngati Porou. In response to you providing Radio Ngati Porous’ expense account for counseling of myself, I just want to say thank you very much for the offer but it is you and Arnold that need to be counseled not me. Radio Ngati Porous’ property will be returned to you as requested apopo. I have also had some info that time in lei is in fact against the law and respectfully should also be paid out as normal hours. That has been bought to my attention by a reliable source so I would seriously investigate that. The last people you want calling in is the Tax department. I have no regrets when informing you of the corruptness happening in management. This matter is far from over. I just hope that when it all comes to light … I hope that your reputation is still in tact. I am not here to cause defamation upon anyone I assure you but here to seek accountability to my letters. Below is a phone conversation that I had with the CEO of TRONP this morning Saturday the 18th of October. If you had read at the top of this post I had a hui with him and April on the 17th of September 2014 and asked him to keep me in the loop as to where things had progressed. This is the information that he gave me. The RNP BOT have made a complaint against Arnold Reedy to the NZ Police. Wow!!!! are they finally feeling the pressure I wonder? This should have been actioned months ago. only now that they find themselves backed into a corner do they try and step up. Also in the conversation was that both Boards will make a combined public statement to the media. Wicked aye??? Hopefully an apology is forthcoming as well aye Mr. Parata? Thats about where things are at for the moment whanau but want you all that to share this post with as many people as you can. We need to take this opportunity and get as much support as we can at this hui. I have no doubt that Mr. Parata will not give up this Chair very easily being the arrogant sort that he is. Also need another favor to ask of you that are in support. We need to get on the agenda at the AGM a vote of no confidence in the RNP board of trustees as well as a vote of no confidence in the CEO of RNP. So I ask that you bombard these email addresses with a vote of no confidence so that it is on the agenda at the RNP AGM.
