KINGDOM LIVING - Proverbs 3 - 6 The writer of Proverbs starts and end this section telling us how important these words are and not to take them lightly, this is important. Punctuation was not big back then and emphasis was shown in this way, repetition of a statement before and after text. These last verses though add something extra - My child, when the Lord God speaks to you, never take His words lightly, and never be upset when he corrects you. For the Fathers discipline comes only from His passionate love and pleasure for you. And even when it seems like His correction is harsh, its still better than any father on earth gives to his child. Proverbs 3: 11-12 None of us like correction, none of us like being disciplined but we all know what can happen to one who is never given boundaries. Sports games are so challenging and such fun to watch because each player knows the rules. People following the rules of the road makes us feel safe when we get into a car. We understand and yet when we are corrected or disciplined we do not always respond well. We need to truly except the truth of these verses and not make excuses for our actions, stop blaming others actions, stop pointing out the one exception to a pattern of behavior, when God speaks we need to listen. He corrects because He loves us, He disciplines because we can do better, He has called us to be his hands and feet, to bring heaven to earth I dont know about you but thats going to take some changes in my life. God sees what we cannot see, He knows things we cannot comprehend, listen well and head His words, words of passionate love and pleasure for you.
