KSP Participates In Nationwide Operation Airbrake Campaign (Henderson, Ky #CVERegion1) - On Wednesday, May 7th 2014 The Kentucky State Police Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Division Region 1 participated in a national commercial vehicle brake safety campaign. Statistics show that about 50 percent of all safety violations found result from the braking systems on commercial vehicles. In an effort to reduce traffic accidents and improve highway safety in the Commonwealth, Kentucky State Police Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Officers in Region 1 conducted 95 safety inspections on commercial vehicles. Each safety inspection consist of a thorough check of not only brake system components but all safety related aspects of the vehicle. At the conclusion of the safety campaign over 130 critical safety violations were discovered operating on Kentucky roadways, in addition KSP-CVE also apprehended 2 fugitives throughout the course of the campaign. kentuckystatepolice.org/cve/regions/press/2014/cve1_pr05_08_14.html
