EXTEMPORE SPEECH Rules - Regulations & Criteria for judgment of the items for Faith Fest 2013 1. SOLO: - Christian devotional song, any one language, Maximum 4 minutes. Criteria for Judgment: - Rhythm, Melody, Overall Performance 2. BIBLE STORY TELLING: - Maximum 4 minutes. Any one language. Only the actions standing in the same place are permitted. Criteria for Judgment: - Oratory, Presentation, Content 3. COLOURING: - Only pencil and wax crayons are allowed. Maximum one hour. Criteria for Judgment: - Colour Combination, General Appeal, Appropriate use of colours, 4. FANCY DRESS: - Only Biblical Characters (No saints are allowed), Maximum 1 Minute, Props allowed; but the participants have to carry it themselves, No Background Music and background setting, only the participant is allowed to Speak. Criteria for Judgment: - Originality, Presentation Skills, Narration 5. GOSPEL READING: - NRSV Bible shall be provided, Any Gospel Reading, Max.2 Minutes, the participant should start reading within the first 15 sec as the bell rings or before (more time taken will invite negative marking) Language should be English. Criteria for Judgment: - Introduction, Clarity/ Diction, Voice Modulation 6. SINGLE DANCE: - Individual. Christian theme, Song of any language, Recorded music Allowed, Maximum 6 minutes, every additional 15 sec, 1 point will be deducted. (CD’s of the zonal winners- 1st and 2ndplace should be handed over along with the zonal list by the zonal promoters) Communion: Folk Dance Post Communion: Classical Dance Criteria for Judgment: - Expression, Graceful Movements, Rhythm 7. BIBLE QUIZ: - Written, 25 Questions, 30 Minutes, Study reference: NRSV Bible/RSV bible Portion for Quiz is: - 1 Kings Criteria for Judgment: - Only Correct Answers, Any Spelling Mistake would be considered as wrong answer. 8. BIBLICAL MONOACT:-Strictly from the Bible, Maximum 3 Minutes, no costumes allowed. Criteria for Judgment: - Acting, Concept, overall dramatic impact 9. ELOCUTION: - Maximum 5 minutes. Any one language. Topic for Pre-Confirmation:- What is the relevance of catechism classes today? Confirmation:- Simplicity and Pope Francis Criteria: Content and language, clarity of Expression, Voice Modulation & Gestures 10. BIBLE VERSE WRITING: -Portion: Gospel of St. Mark (NRSV Bible/RSV bible- the student has to specify on the paper the bible used for reference). Need to write Verse and References, No spelling Mistakes, Handwriting should be Readable and Legible, No omission Of Sentences/ short forms. Maximum 10 minutes. 11. EXTEMPORE: Theme shall be given five minutes before; speech for 4 minutes, only English to be used. At the parish and zonal level respective organizing body shall decide the theme Criteria: Content and language, clarity of Expression, Voice Modulation & Gestures Zonal Level Competitions Nov. 17, 24, Dec. 1 Diocesan Level competitions Date: 27th December 2013 Venue: St. Xavier’s School Kanjurmarg Entry Fee Rs. 50 (for each event), First five positions will be awarded.
