Kaninyumanggi: The rise of brown rice As part of the National Science and Technology Week 2013 celebration, the Department of Science and Technology launched a recipe book titled “Brown Rice Recipes Para sa Lahing Kayumanggi” last July 26. The term “kaninyumanggi” was coined from “kanin,” tagalog word for rice, and “kayumanggi,” tagalog word for brown.
