Karla Diane, Recovery is Sweet! When we took in 20 death-row - TopicsExpress

Karla Diane, Recovery is Sweet! When we took in 20 death-row dogs recently (while many no-kill shelters have that number total at any one time), we included one sweet little girl who was going to be the first to be euthanized.. Karla Diane was named for two of the supporters who donated to help with her care, Karla Davis and Diane Quam. And Karla Diane had 5 strikes against her- she is black, shes not a puppy, she was an emaciated mutt with a dry dull coat, she always looked worried and shy- and she had demodectic mange, mostly on her face. Any one of those shelter strikes is a death sentence in traditional facilities dealing with the never ending avalanche of pets abandoned to die by the people they love. And in New Mexico, ranked number 3 in the country for animal abuse and neglect, Karla Dianes chances were slim and none of leaving the animal control facility alive. Which is why there was NO way we were going to leave her to die. Karlas treatments were successful, and today she is an outgoing, happy-go lucky girl with a beautiful coat and no sign of mange on her sweet (still worried looking) face. With daily volcanic blue green algae with probiotics, including acidophilus, bifida, and digestive enzymes, Karla Dianes immune system has become strong and vibrant, her body has filled out to a perfect weight- and her coat is full and thick and shines in the sun when she plays fetch in the park. Today, Karla Diane is a happy, very very adoptable dog, because Animal Village NM was open to save her life, and to give her the physical and emotional support she deserved. If YOU think that Karla Diane deserved what she receives at Animal Village NM, PLEASE become a monthly sponsor TODAY? Please, if the experiences of these cats and dogs touch you, if you enjoy seeing their new lives begin with responsible people because of what we do here- PLEASE HELP us keep our doors open. Please dont just WATCH our struggles to do this work. PLEASE HELP us continue to save precious dogs like Karla Diane, about to die ONLY because they are abused, neglected, and or abandoned by the humans they love. If you care, please HELP. Donations to our 501c3 no-kill 9-acre shelter are tax-deductible. And they save lives. Its easy to become a monthly sponsor of AVNM- just go to the website at animalvillagenm., and click on the donate tab. If everyone who reads this page does a LITTLE, AVNM can continue to do a LOT to end the needless deaths, and advocate for needed change in New Mexico.
