Kathua 6 August: District administration and Flood Control Department both have been turned as most corrupt, insensitive and cruel and seemed busy just to plunder the land resources of the kathua due to which the village Sherpur at Old Samba Road near Sahar Khud is facing the threat of sweeping away by floods this is said by the protestors during a protest against the administration and flood and control department at Old Samba Road here today. The protestors Sarpanch Badal Yash Paul Raina and Janak Bharti slammed the administration for forcing the village Sherpur to float in flooding water and erosion of thousands of kanals of agriculture land by Sahar Khud flood and even the fourty feet wide road was totally lost and swept away in flood. He alleges that the flow of flooding water in Sahar Khud was diverted towards the village and dominated agriculture area for the sake of property dealers who sold and purchased the Khud illegally and resulting that the water forcibly gushed into more than houses of the villagers and thousands of kanals agriculture land eroded. While the so many times the villagers had put the problems into the notice of administration but no action has been taken so far and left the innocent inhabitants to face several miseries they said. They demanded that enquiry should be conducted against those who have illegally encroached the Khud and putting the thousands of lives of the area into the threat. They also leveled serious charges of corruption on the Flood Control department in liu of money by allotting the works to their favorite agents; they said bund is going to be constructed by the department on the bank of Sahar Khud for the personnel protection of an influential man and avoiding the construction bunds for the protection thousands of people and their lands from erosion.
