Kathy hates this one because she grew up in the town, but I can’t help but like the movie no matter how much she says it’s all fake. Of course, I’m talking about The Amityville Horror. This is also one that I first saw as edited for TV and only later saw it on VHS in the full version. I also read the book growing up, sneaking it from my parent’s library when I was 10, and I have to say the book was actually more scary than what I saw on TV. If you can manage the time, this is a good October movie to watch, but don’t get too scared because, as Kathy says, “It’s all fake!
