Keeneland has cataloged 1,610 horses for its 57th January Horses of All Ages Sale, which will be held Jan. 12-15, 2015. The January Sale is noted for its robust trade in high-quality racing and broodmare prospects and short yearlings. The strong results of Keenelands November Breeding Stock Sale confirmed the resurgence in the Thoroughbred market, Keeneland Vice President of Sales Walt Robertson said. We look for the momentum of that sale to continue in January. The January Sale catalog includes 605 broodmares, 135 racing or broodmare prospects, 563 yearlings, 282 horses of racing age and 25 stallion prospects. The interactive catalog will be available online at Keeneland beginning Tuesday, Dec. 9. Print catalogs are to be mailed Thursday, Dec. 18. Keeneland will offer broodmares in foal to 168 stallions, including Animal Kingdom, Awesome Again, Bernardini, Blame, Bodemeister, Candy Ride (ARG), Congrats, Curlin, Empire Maker, Into Mischief, Lemon Drop Kid, Lookin At Lucky, Medaglia dOro, More Than Ready, Orb, Pioneerof the Nile, Point of Entry, Quality Road, Scat Daddy, Shanghai Bobby, Speightstown, Street Cry (IRE), Tapit, Tapizar, The Factor, To Honor and Serve, Trappe Shot, Uncle Mo, Union Rags, Violence and War Front. Yearlings in the catalog represent 168 stallions, including Bernardini, Bodemeister, Candy Ride (ARG), City Zip, Congrats, Curlin, Distorted Humor, Giants Causeway, Hard Spun, Harlans Holiday, Into Mischief, Kittens Joy, Lemon Drop Kid, Lookin At Lucky, Malibu Moon, Medaglia dOro, More Than Ready, Pioneerof the Nile, Quality Road, Speightstown, Street Cry (IRE), Tapizar, The Factor, To Honor and Serve, Trappe Shot, Unbridleds Song, Uncle Mo, Union Rags and War Front. The 2014 stakes winners that are graduates of the January sale include Grade/Group 1 winners Corozaleno and Hardest Core; Grade 2 winners Ball Dancing, Cairo Prince, Conquest Harlanate, Toast of New York and Twilight Eclipse; and Grade 3 winners Alert Bay, Fashion Alert, Five Iron, Gamay Noir and Sheza Smoke Show. Sessions begin at 10 a.m. ET each day. The sale will be streamed live on Keeneland.
