Kem Theodore Saunders David Whitely Leopold Johnson Sereena Amelia Grant Nanesh Smith Jonathan Peart Sarah Peart Alex Daley Cassandra Maria Romano Nelson Star Baybeii Sukeem Ashantaye Saunders On my way to work this morning and I came across this scripture 1 John 4:2 Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God. The above scripture intrigued me and to my understanding this is what the Scripture is saying, tell me if my interpretation is far wide, close or right on the money.... Hereby know ye the Spirit of God ( Gods Spirit which according to 2 Corinthians 3:17 that says :Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. Also in John 4:24: God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth) From the above texts we know that God is his Spirit for God is a Spirit, now the original text goes on to say Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God the key part of that section of the Scripture I would like to point out is Jesus Christ is come in the flesh or in another way one could say Jesus Christ is manifested in the flesh, which means the Spirit has been manifested in the flesh. This then suggest the first section of the text that says Hereby know ye the Spirit of God is referring to Jesus Christ who is come/manifested in the flesh, basically saying That Hereby know ye the Spirit of God Jesus Christ who is come in the flesh which would then suggest that Jesus Christ is not only a Spirit but he is the Spirit of God in which God is his Spirit because God is a Spirit which would make Jesus Christ the Spirit of God meaning Jesus Christ is God? The Scriptures say in 1 Timothy 3:16 And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory. Then the Scripture says in 1 John 3:8 He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil. Also in St John 1: 1-2 It says: In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 The same was in the beginning with God. Now Jesus being the Word was with God and that Word was God meaning that Jesus is in fact God Then the Scripture says in verse 14: And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth. From the above texts I know that Jesus was manifested, that the Word Which is God was made flesh, that Jesus who is the Word which is God was made flesh, meaning that God burst into time via a certain route if you will and that route, that pathway God decided to take was the route of the Son in which Jesus the Word coated his divinity in human flesh and died for our sins, not only that, he subjected himself, the manifestation of Jesus subjected himself to himself. This would mean that the Sonship of Jesus to the Father is not like human sonship is it ? It is allot more than that, if you share the same view as me or even close then tell me what you think the Sonship of Jesus is ?
