Kendall Park First Aid and Rescue Squad Recommend MCI Technology to Fight Communicable Diseases 2014-11-11 Print Emergency Service Agency takes aggressive measures to protect patients and volunteers from bacteria and viruses in their ambulances. FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE / PRURGENT With the current outbreak of Ebola and other communicable diseases in the news, the Kendall Park First Aid and Rescue Squad in South Brunswick NJ has taken an aggressive step toward protecting the citizens for whom they provide Emergency Medical Services. “When we learned about the effectiveness of the MCI™ (Multi-Cluster Ionization) Technology and how we could implement its use in our ambulances and buildings to provide continuous sanitization,” said Chief Brian Low-Beer of the Kendall Park First Aid and Rescue Squad, “we immediately installed the equipment. The small confined areas inside an ambulance provide a perfect breeding ground for viruses and bacteria. However, within 24 hours of this new technology equipment being in operation, areas sampled in the ambulances went from high levels of microbial growth to none detected.” Lance Eisen, Chief of Operations for Best Living Systems, who provided the equipment, said, “Results like this is what we have seen in a variety of living and working environments like offshore oil platforms, hospitals, homes and offices. Douglas Hoffman, the Executive Director of Best Living Systems said, “Our MCI™ technology (MultiClusterIonization) is an effective, affordable barrier to protect workers from ill patients who are transported in ambulances. It provides a healthier living environment in medical settings, homes and office. Allen Johnston President/CEO of GreenTech Environmental, one of the developers of the equipment has written; “The technology used in our photocatalytic products have been tested using multiple pathogens including gram-negative and gram-positive bacteria and viruses with 1.5 to 4.0 LOG reductions achieved. Based upon these results we can say with confidence that our technology will be effective at significantly reducing the Ebola virus.” The Kendall Park First Aid and Rescue Squad provides Emergency Medical Services to the Kendall Park area in South Brunswick NJ and the southern portion of Franklin Township, Somerset County NJ.
