Kendrick Recruitment now has an exciting new vacancy for a Restaurant Manager for a 5* Boutique Hotel situated in Cape Town. This is a new position to this beautiful hotel and the key responsibility of the Restaurant Manager is to ensure daily service is run perfectly and the oversee and manage the day-to-day operations of the dining experience. Within this role duties will include: · Actively managing service during meal periods · Menu and wine recommendations · Ensuring that all F&B areas are correctly prepared by staff, e.g. tables are set correctly, mise-en-place is prepared · Develop and maintain effective communication with Duty Managers, Executive Chef, Sommelier, General Manager, Cost Controller, Financial Manager and between kitchen and service staff · Daily on the job training · Daily stock control, incl. mini bar, dry store, operating equipment · Daily admin, incl. data capture (stock takes), rosters – e.g. daily occupancy changes, ordering · Ensuring that all operational equipment is in a state of good repair · Work closely with the Operations Manager in building business through events and the Ellerman Club. REQUIREMENTS: We are ideally looking for someone who has extensive experience in the F&B Department and has preferably worked their way up in the department. We will need someone who enjoys being hands on in the role and assisting wherever needing in the role. We are looking for someone who is well travelled, mature and sophisticated along with excellent guest relation skills. You will need to be excellent at multi-tasking and have a passion and knowledge within Food and Wine. Attention to detail is a must as well as being well presented and confident to deal with international guests associated with this hotel. Excellent computer skills are a must with previous experience on Micros a Must! We are looking for someone with a Formal Hospitality Qualification and at least 3 years working experience as Restaurant Manager in a 5* or similar environment. Previous experience with Lobster Ink Training system will be an advantage but not essential. For this successful candidate a salary of R18,000 will be offered, 6% pension, 50%medical aid contribution. Along with this you will be given 30 days consecutive annual leave and 8 days off per a month. Shift times are yet to be confirmed but can be discussed upon interview.
