#KenenisaBekele, one of the greatest distance runners of all time, owning several world records and an array of medals is currently the holder of the World Record and Olympic Record in both the 5000 and 10,000 metres events. He won a double at the 2008 Olympics in these events. He is the most accomplished runner in the history of World Cross Country Championships with a total of 16 Gold medals and winning both events of the short and long races for five years in a row, a feat no other runner accomplished even once. In 2006, he became the first athlete in history to be an Olympic, World Outdoor Track, World Indoor Track, and World Cross Country champion at a time. He was the first man in history to win double of the long distance races (5k & 10k) at the same World Championships in 2009. He is the most successful Ethiopian Olympian of all time. Fellow World Record holder Usain Bolt stated that Kenenisa Bekeles achievements have not received the recognition they deserve; and the IAAF announcer register concluded, this man is probably the greatest distance runner we will ever see.
