The supposed $4billion in subsidies are spread over five years and includes $400 million a year which was part of the Pioneer Generation Package (so double-counting). Actual additional healthe spending would then amount to $2 billion over five years (which is less than half the governments loan commitment to IMF). And the subsidies are on Medishield Life premiums which is not actual expenditure. So far Medishield has been in surplus.What will happen to premiums when the so-called Transitional subsidies expire?
