Keshi Clears Omeruo For Ethiopia -Maintains Contact With Injured Star Super Eagles head coach, Stephen Okechukwu Keshi has confirmed that he has Africa Cup of Nations revelation, Kenneth Omeruo in mind for a return to national team action in next month’s World Cup qualification final play-off against Ethiopia. In what becomes Kehi’s direct response to a declaration by Omeruo last month that he will be ready for a part of the action against Ethiopia at U.J. Esuene Stadium, Calabar, following his dislocated shoulder during the FIFA Confederations Cup in Brazil and surgery in England, the Eagles’ gaffer has disclosed that he is in constant touch with the defender. To this end, The Big Boss has hinted that he will hand a call-up for the November 16 clash with Ethiopia to the former Sunshine Stars of Akure stopper, who played on loan from Chelsea of England at ADO Den Haag of Holland last season but is still angling for a permanent deal at Stamford Bridge. Keshi said he is confident Omeruo will be ready for the World Cup playoff, though the defender has not played since June after he got injured at the Confed Cup, but the 20-year-old defender has informed the coach that he is fast recuperating, as he undergoes rehabilitation with Chelsea. I am happy at the recovery pace of Kenneth and I want to stay positive that he would be in good health ahead of our November game in Calabar. He called me when we returned from Addis Ababa and he has started light training, so I am hoping that he would be fully fit before the game next month because we need all of our players to be in good health and support the team, Keshi told MTNFootball.
