Kimble Cricket Club First XI 209 for 7 beat Leighton Buzzard 2s 143 for 9 Buzzard Cant control Kimble’s raging BullA fine knock of 65 today from Dan Bull put Kimble in a position of authority, where they could put pressure on the Buzzard Batsmen to claim a well earned 19 points.Phil Semmens began Kimble’s innings brightly after they had been asked to bat first, however when he was out with the score 32-3, it looked like they could have been bowled out cheaply. However Dan Bull (65) and Bradley Rose (43) put on a stand of 106 for the 4th wicket, punishing any lose balls along the way, inserting Kimble back into a solid position. Once the stand was broken Buzzard clawed their way back into the game, only for Captain Adrian Rose and Jordan McRae to take it away from them, with the Skipper working out the Mystery of Yogi to plant him for six into the corn field, taking the score to 209-7 at the interval. With a couple of early rain delays at the start of Buzzards reply, neither team could take control of proceedings. However a couple of quick wickets from Phil Semmens insured Kimble had the initiative. This could be seen as they regularly picked up crucial wickets, with the Captains slick bowling changes working perfectly, and the Cornish wonder Vaughn Semmens returning to claim figures of 3-29. The last wicket eluded them as the rain came with 4 over’s left in the innings to end the game as a draw, but this could not dampen the crowds spirits as horns of delight could be heard coming from the top. kimblecricketclub.co.uk/scorecard/fixtureID_323943/First-XI-v-Leighton-Buzzard-2s-27-Jul-2013.aspx
