King Mo Lawal on Rampage Jackson: Hes Getting His Ass Whupped: Former Strikeforce light-heavyweight champion Muhammad King Mo Lawal discusses his upcoming fight with Rampage Jackson, says the former champ is going to get “his ass whupped.” King Mo is quite confident that Rampage will not be able to knock him out. Not only did Muhammed Lawal shrug off statements regarding his opponents knockout power, he added that he will dominate the encounter and make sure that Rampage gets his ass-whupped. I know hes getting his ass whupped, straight up, Lawal said on Mondays edition of The MMA Hour. Hes getting his ass whupped. The former Strikeforce light-heavyweight champion reiterated his previous statements on Rampage, and emphasized that they were never friends and have a mutual animosity for each other. Were not boys. I never talk to Rampage on the phone, maybe once, three or four years ago. I dont know s--- about Rampage, I knew hes from Memphis. Other than that, I cant say too much about him. I dont know that dude, I dont know. We aint boys, weve never been boys. When asked to analyze the match-up, Lawal suggested that it will not be easy for ‘Rampage to use his knockout power on him, as he is a far more versatile fighter than Quintons recent opponent Christian MPumbu. I dont I think hes the same fighter he was all the time. Im not worried about him, hes got knockouts in the first round. So what. That dont mean nothing to me, thats in the past. He knocked out Christian MPumbu. Knocking out Christian MPumbu, you know what Im saying, he got caught. But I aint getting caught. ‘King Mo mentioned that he had been training with American Top Team for this upcoming match-up and that he is no longer feeling any of the effects from his staph infection a couple of years ago. Im good to go. Ive been training in Florida with American Top Team Ive been putting that work in and Im feeling great. Ive been working hard, straight up.
