Kishtiwar delegation meet Bar Association and explain regarding the incident of Eid: They have requested the Jammu as well as Kashmir Bar Associations to come to their rescue and file a Public Interest Writ Petition in the High Court for ordering an impartial and thorough probe in the matter, so that no innocent person is victimized or is made a scape goat and punished. kishtiwar delegation stated that in gun shop related incident 16 Muslim boys have been booked and challan has been presented against them in the court similarly for Chogan incident, challan has been presented against 33 Muslim boys and in relation to Shalimar incident, where a private vehicle was set on fire, challan has been presented against 14 Muslim boys only. No Hindu or any VDC member has, however, been arrested or booked in any case, so far. A delegation of Anjumani-Islamia, Kishtwar, which was headed by Qazi Iqbal-ud-din President, Anjumani-Islamia,Kishtwar and included besides others Riyaz Ahmad Zargar, Vice President, Mushtaq Ahmad General Secretary; Sheikh Nasir Spokesperson; Mohammad Aslam Dev, Convener; Riyaz Ahmad and Abdul Latief members, called on the members of the Executive Committee of the J&K High Court Bar Association, Srinagar today and apprised them about the happenings in Kishtwar from 09th of August, 2013 onwards. They stated that on 09.08.2013, Muslims from differnet parts of Kishtwar had assembled in Iddgah Chogan, Kishtwar for offering Idd Prayers and when a group of Muslims from the nearby villages of Hulad, Hinjala, Ohi and Bandrina were on their ways to Iddgah for joining the Idd prayers and had reached Kaleedi Chowk, one Virender Singh, an SPO, and a bodyguard of Sunil Kumar Sharma, BJP Secretary, came on riding a motorcycle and hit some youngsters with his bike without any rhyme or reason. When people asked him as to why he has done so, he shouted on all of them and told them that they are all Pakistanies and he has done a right thing. He thereafter went to village Kaleed, which is dominated by Hindus and instigated the people over there, who at his behest resorted to stone pelting and thrashing of every Muslim who came on their way. They caught hold of one Bashir Ahmad, a handicapped person and an employee of PHE Department and beat him mercilessly and thereafter set him on fire, as a result of which he died on spot. They also gave a thrashing to one 80 year old Abdul Salam Sheikh, who had come to offer his prayers who fell on the ground in a very critical condition. They also attacked and ransacked a petrol pump of Javaid Ahmad Malik. They also attacked the shops of Muslims at Hadyal Chowk and burnt those shops with all that was inside the shops. One Dr. Ajay Kumar Gupta, CMO Doda, whose house is situated at Gudhali Chowk, fired from his house on the Muslims, in which six persons got seriously injured. The people, sensing danger to their lives, thereafter attacked a gunshop located inside Shahan Complexbelonging to Sajad Kichloo and took away some guns therefrom, but no gun was used on anyone in retaliation. On 09th of August, 2013, itself the Bolero of Sunil Sharma, BJP Secretary, alongwith dozens of his goons, went to Paddar which is 63 kms away from Kishtwar and which is dominated by Hindus,as they are 32,000 in number and Muslims are only 1,340 andon 10th of August, 2013 they took out a procession and then they attacked Kijai and Atholi villages in league with VDC members where Muslims are more in number and beat the people over there and inflicted severe kind of injuries on many of themas a result of which four persons who had multiple fractures were decided to be shifted to Jammu. However, when a chopper came to lift them from Gulabgardh, where they had been brought in an ambulance, the VDC members did not allow the chopper to land. They also dragged out one attendant Lassa Khanday whose brother and son had received injuries, from the ambulance and beat him with Lathis and stones as a result of which, he died on spot. His dead body was, however, given to his relatives on 11.08.2013. In police station Kishtwar ten cases have been registered under FIR No. 145/13 etc. and a special investigation team has also been constituted which is headed by one Shiv Raj Singh Chohan, S.P., but till date no arrests of any Hindu has been effected by the investigating agency, even though SIT has registered a separate FIR No. 160/2013 in the matter. They stated that even though Dr. Ajay Kumar Gupta had resorted to unprovoked firing in which dozens of people had been got injured, but no case has been registered against him and instead he has been cited as a witness to the occurrence. One Parvaiz Ahmad, a PG student whose father Ghulam Rasool, had rented out a shop to one Inderdeep has been put behind the bars even though the entire Hindu community had come forward to establish his innocence but no one heeded to their request. They stated that the Govt., has no doubt appointed Justice R.C. Ghandhi, as a Commissioner of Inquiry, but he has opened his main office at Jammu and only a Sub Office is functional at Kishtwar, for receiving complaints etc. only. They stated that all Muslim youth have ran away from the area to evade their arrest at the hands of the policebecause they are being pestered and tried to be booked in false cases. They have requested the Jammu as well as Kashmir Bar Associations to come to their rescue and file a Public Interest Writ Petition in the High Court for ordering an impartial and thorough probe in the matter, so that no innocent person is victimized or is made a scape goat and punished. The J&K High Court Bar Association Srinagar has assured the delegation of all possible legal help and assistance in having a fair, impartial and independent investigation/inquiry conducted in the matter. The Bar Association has also assured them of bringing the matter to the notice of appropriate authority for redressing their genuine grievances, by whatever means possible.
