#KnowinSolarSystem #Knowing_Venus * Venus is named after goddess of love and beauty, most probably its because it the the brightest planet. * Venus is 2nd nearest planet to the Sun & hottest planet in our Solar System, it has maximum surface temp. of 462°C. * It is also known as morning & evening star, also its considered as Earths twin because of its nearly similar size, mass & density. * Venus has 93 times massive atmosphere than the earth. * Venus is 2nd brightest object in the night sky after moon. Its magnitude lies between -3.8 to -4.6, it can even cast shadows in a dark night. * Venus has no magnetic field, perhaps because of its slow rotation. *Venus spins backwards (retrograde rotation) when compared to the other planets. This means that the sun rises in the west and sets in the east on Venus. * Venus has no moon, and it shows phases like moon- When Venus is closest, at its brightest, it actually makes a thin crescent. And then, when Venus is dimmest and furthest away, we can see more of circle. * Venus axis hardly has any tilt at all, unlike Mars and Earth. This means that, if it had a thin atmosphere, the planet would not have seasons. * Venus takes 243 Earth days to rotate on its axis, by far the slowest of any of the major planets, and because of this sluggish spin, its metal core cannot generate a magnetic field. The Venusian year — the time it takes to orbit the sun — is about 225 Earth days long.
