Koheleth: Then we are doomed to live with Daylight Saving Time forever? Bokonon: The day that every law makes sense, that there is no need to tell people to discard the scientific consensus, that people understand the importance of skepticism – on that day, perhaps we will discard Daylight Saving Time. But on that day an era will end. And people will become confident in their powers of reasoning, and eventually become confident in the sanity of a far wiser system. And then we will need a new law, even more bizarre and inexplicable than the last. And so the fourth cycle will begin.
