Konas Story: Kona was born in May 2009. On our way home from a castle in Turkey, a little rat jumped out at us in the city of Konacik! We were actually quite afraid until he began meowing! We searched for his mother and siblings, but they were no where. He was completely caked in dirt and mud and it took several weeks of cleaning him with a toothbrush because of his delicate pink skin and picking the caked dirt out of his fur. After getting him checked out by the local vet, he was given a clean bill of health as long as we could have all the dirt out of his claws and ears by the time we ready to board the plane. We had to buy him a plane ticket and get vet papers signed in order to bring him with us. Luckily, we went straight from Turkey to New York, so no quarantining we necessary. He was such a good little kitten on the 12 hour flight !! Not a peep out of him and he drank water from a bottle cap! No one on the plane even knew he was on board until we took him out for a picture after we landed! #MyRescueStory
