...Kurds have a major ethnic presence in four countries; Iran, Iraq, Syria and Turkey. The first stage of the “Great Kurdistan” dream was set in motion with Kurds declaring autonomy in Iraq. Although Iraq paid a heavy price for that division, the administration in Arbil, which is talking about a referendum on independence and holds Iraq’s oil in its hands, is delighted with the situation. In the ruined land of Syria, the PYD recently declared autonomy in the Kurdish region. Although it looks as if the second stage in America’s plan has come about, that is not actually the case; the Kurdish people in the country are being systematically slaughtered by both the PYD and Assad and ISIS units. The PYD is a Leninist organization that supports the Ba’athist Assad regime. It should not be that attractive to the USA for an autonomous Kurdish region to fall into the hands of pro-Assad communists. The PJAK, part of the PKK in Turkey and the PYD in Syria, is almost entirely ineffectual in Iran. It has been unable to deter the Iranian regime with terror or to influence the Iranian people. The PJAK recently announced that it was founding a new organization known as KODAR in order to resolve the country’s problems through dialogue. The inspiration is the climate of “dialogue” in Turkey.
