As human beings, we often get trapped or frozen in patterns of behaviour that impede real communication. Theatre of the Oppressed gives us some tools that help us ‘unfreeze’, break some of these patterns, become aware of our full potential for dialoguing with our fellow human beings. The Theatre of the Oppressed describes theatrical forms that the Brazilian theatre practitioner Augusto Boal first elaborated in the 1960s, initially in Brazil and later in Europe. Boal was influenced by the work of the educator and theorist Paulo Freire. Boals techniques use theatre as means of promoting social and political change. It consists of Image theatre, Newspaper theatre, Rainbow of desires, theatre games and forum theatre. Being a Psychologist, I feel everyone has a need for self exploration and Theatre is a wonderful tool! THIS ISNT A THERAPY BUT TOO THERAPEUTIC! Lets Join and see the miracle happen.
