LED lights are the newest kid on the block in terms of energy efficient quality lighting. They can be very expensive, but this expense is balanced against long life )like 20 years?) and low running cost. However in my experience a lot of these expensive bulbs fail. I jsut replaced a 2-3 year old bulb that cost me around $20. On examining it I can see that the 3 little bulbs have burnt out. I am pretty disgusted with this so I did a bit of googling. Apparently although they are low heat emitting, they do emit some heat and need a good heat sink to take care of this led-light-bulbs-review.toptenreviews/how-do-led-light-bulbs-work-.html maybe I should drill more vents in the light fittings
