LEMON BALM NATURAL HEALING POWERS & BENEFITS: Lemon balm is used in the treatment of allergies, amenorrhea, anxiety, asthma, attention deficit disorder, bronchitis, chicken pox, chronic fatigue, colic, colds, depression, fever, flatulence, flu, GERD (acid reflux), Graves disease, headache, heart palpitations, herpes, homesickness, hyperactivity, hypertension, hysteria, immune booster, indigestion, insomnia, menstrual cramps, migraine, mumps, muscle spasms, nausea, nervousness, Newcastle disease, nightmares, pain, restlessness, senility, shingles, small pox, stomachache, and teething. Lemon balm tea is lovely hot or iced & is suitable for daily use. It goes well with the addition of mint or a squeeze of lime. OTHER USES Lemon balm is used to make Eau des Carmes, a reviving wine made by the Carmelites & dating from the seventeenth century. Beekeepers rub lemon balm inside hives to attract new bees & keep established ones home. In magical traditions, lemon balm is burned as incense or placed in sachets to attract love & protection from negative energies.
