LETTER TO NIGERIAN LAWMAKERS: Dear Lawmakers, As a patriotic citizen I deem it fit 2 draw your attention 2 d disastrous mistakes u are making. But I must first of all admit that, when it comes 2 politics, u have flair. But however gifted u might be in playing noisy politics, u are not good at making policies. Hence, our govt, by extraordinary act of naivety, has been making Nigerian position, in international arena, look not only weak & crude but also ridiculous. For d benefit of all, it is high time we start looking at our national events through d eyes of our nations most vigorous & certainly most acrimonious age group: d youths. You must know that d youths belive that virtually all Nigerian leaders to-date lack one important quality that their high positions demanded; ie d power 2 analyse historic situations in depth, to propose a course of conduct, & present it in such a way as 2 shape d minds of expectant citizens. The plain language of d youths u failed 2 understand is that there is disaffection on d land, & d idea of a Great Nigerian Republic is gradually fizzling out. And u are making a terrible mistake by dismissing d musings of d youths as groundless, vexatious & scandalous. You must know that d unanimity of d masses is amazing. But that is unanimity that all of u are corrupt. In your arrogance & complacency, d entire National Assembly, forgotting d lessons of d past, is trying 2 impose slavery on free-born Nigerians by taking away our much-cherished right 2 decent living. This u did by undermining Nigerian economic growth by looting our national treasury & allocating about 80% of our annual budgets 2 pamper your comforts. We know that u will all pretend 2 be astonished 2 learn that u are doing any such thing. But no matter: thosere what ure doing. And Nigerian masses are enduring all these shabby treatments bcos life is so dear, our peace is so sweet as 2 be purchased at d price of chain & slavery. But we wont stop shouting Give us liberty & not sub-human existence in a country so richly endowed.
