LIVING ON DIVINE MANNER Date: Wednesday, 7th of August 2014 Be a good Steward Bible text: Matthew 25 vs 14-29, Luke 16 vs 1-13 Memory verse: He that is faithful in that which is least is faithful also in much; and he that is unjust in the least is unjust also in much Luke 16 vs 10(KJV). The Bible says If you are untrustworthy about worldly wealth, who will trust you with the true riches of heaven?(Luke 16 vs 11-NLT). Life is a trust and the good Lord, right from creation has entrusted alot into our care by making us managers; (God) blessed them and said Have many children, so that your descendants will live all over the earth and bring it under their control. I am putting you in charge - Genesis 1 vs 28(TEV). Just like the parable of the talent, the master (GOD) owns everything, the book of psalm 24 vs1 affirms that the earth is the Lords and the fullness thereof: the world and they that dwell therein(KJV) so each and every one of us has been given a talent to work with - both literarily and figuratively- our time, our energy, beauty, intelligence, opportunities, relationships and even resources are all gifts from God which we must utilize. Everything we enjoy should be treated as a trust that God has placed in our hands- what do you have that God has not given you? And if all you have is from God, why boast though you have accomplished something on your own? 1Corinthians 4 vs 2(NLT) The evaluation of that rich man in Christs parable is equivalent to Gods. The master said Well done, thou hood and faithful servant; thou hast been faithful over few things, I will make you ruler over many things; enter thou into the joy of thy Lord. This means at the end of life on earth you will be evaluated and rewarded according to how well you handled what God entrusted to you, even you simple daily chores has eternal implications. God promises three rewards for a good and faithful steward. First is Gods affirmation well done next you will receive a promotion I will make you ruler over many things then you will be honoured with celebration enter thou into the joy of thy Lord. How I manage my money(worldly wealth) will determine how much God can trust me with spiritual blessings(true riches). The more God gives you, the more responsible he expects you to be. Prayer point: Lord, help me to be faithful over all you entrusted me with. Good morning Gods faithful steward.
