LOOOONG story short: after SEVERAL phone calls and speaking with SEVERAL people the $1500 couch I ordered will NOT and CAN NOT be delivered because the $129 delivery charge means that you MUST either take off work to conform to THEIR schedule or "leave your door unlocked" (EXTREMELY poor customer service from the President of a company...thanks to my sales rep Claudia for calling him on her own accord because my call bothered her so much). I must now drive 1 1/2 hours away to pick-up the thing. (Thank you Joel, a sales rep in Mitchell for calling delivery after my third call to them and for the advice of calling before coming tomorrow since who knows if and when it will show up tomorrow so I can pick it up Saturday if I can find a U-Haul and people to pick it up with.) I will have to rent a U-Haul and find co-workers/friends who are willing to help me carry it up to my apartment. The couch I fell in love with after two years of searching-- and was reassured by several people I could select a time for delivery (but not a day) for upon purchasing--has now become the couch of my nightmares. The excitement I have held for the couch for the past 4 weeks while I waited for a phone call to schedule a time, has now left me entirely. Who the heck leaves their house unlocked for strangers to go into? What a liability issue for a company and bad advice!
