(8 October 2014) CHARLES BOLDEN (NASA Administrator): People always ask the question Why Mars? Several reasons. One: Mars is very Earth-like or at least used to be very Earth-life. It is a planet--a sister planet to Earth. It is the most likely planet in our solar system that had life at one time--MAY HAVE LIFE NOW--and we feel definitely can sustain life, so-so thats the reason we chose it...we need to be able to survive off this planet...
