Ladies and Gentlemen, for those of you interested, Ozzie and I were thinking about having the first ever Chiang Mai beach hat tournament. I know I know...there are no beaches in Chiang Mai. Oh, but wait, there is. Oh yes, there is! The Chiang Mai tubing (chiangmaitubing) has a beach full of sand to play at. I talked with Chris who works there and we can rent the whole beach for the day. I am not sure on costs yet since I just talked to him a few hours ago and he would like me to write something more formal up, but he said it is doable. That being said, I would like to try and do this after the Malaysia tournament. I was thinking either the 26 or 27 of July or on the 2 or 3 of August. It would be for only 1 of those 4 possible days. We would probably start around 8:30 or 9 a.m. and have a hour lunch break and then play until around 4 or 5 p.m. There should be swimming available as well as some amenities. They may cater food for us or we can bring our own stuff. Again, I will get more details once I chat more with Chris. If anyone has any ideas to make this a fun time or any suggestions about themes, food, or whatever, please let me know. I am open to any and all crazy ideas. This is just going to be a fun sociable day of beach ulty. Nothing too fancy or competitive. For those of you who went to Phuket a few weeks ago, you know what I am talking about. If you are interested please just comment that you are interested so I can get a bit of a feel for the amount of people we might have. There will be transportation from Chiang Mai to the location and back. I will eventually send this to Bangkok and Phuket ulty groups in case anyone is randomly coming up to Chiang Mai at that time.
