Some good decisions, some bad, but regardless of your opinion, I think we can all agree that this year has failed in comparison to those prior all around. I feel as though a look back at some upsets that were even bigger than anything this year are in order... -In 2009, The Hurt Locker won best picture over Avatar, The Blindside, Inglorious Bastards, and Up. -In 2006, Leonardo DiCaprio was robbed of Best Actor by Forest Whitaker. -In 2004, Leo was wronged yet again, this time by Jamie Fox. -In 1999, American Beauty took best picture instead of The Green Mile. -In 98, Shakespeare in Love took best picture instead of Saving Private Ryan. -In 95, Babe was nominated... -Also in 95 Nicholas Cage won the Oscar for best Actor. -Finally in 95, Seals Kiss from a Rose from the Batman Forever soundtrack wasnt even nominated... -In 94 nothing bad happened... that was just a wonderful year for cinema. (Shawshank, Forrest Gump, Pulp Fiction). -In 93, that Mr. DiCaprio did NOT win best supporting actor, instead it was foolishly given to Tommy Lee Jones. -In 77, Star Wars DIDNT win, but was nominated.
