Ladies only -- I’ve got a wardrobe dilemma. I bet many of you - TopicsExpress

Ladies only -- I’ve got a wardrobe dilemma. I bet many of you have been in this same predicament a time or two. A week from now I have an event that requires just the right dress. Let me back up a little. Actually, 3 months ago, I knew about this event. And yes, 3 months ago I vowed to lose 10 lbs so the perfect dress, already hanging in my closet, would fit. Fast forward to today. As has been my twice a week ritual since January 1st, I wake up, pee, then weigh myself. Newsflash -- I did not reach my goal but am pleased to be down a little. Time’s a tickin’ so I try on “the dress”. Guess what? It fits. Well sort of. It fits perfectly well first thing in the morning, no food in my belly and while standing up. I can already tell there will be no sitting in “the dress” unless a few more lbs are shed. Here are my options. A) Buy a different dress in a bigger size. Justifying, of course, that it can be altered to a smaller size as soon as the weather warms up and I no longer need this extra protective layer. Not a bad option but I REALLY like “the dress”. B) Eat nothing but grapefruit and cabbage soup for the next 7 days and try to lose to another 5 lbs. or C) Surrender to the fact that I will be standing the entire night and pair “the dress” with comfy shoes. Who am I trying to kid? I already know (C) is out. “The dress” will not and cannot be paired with clogs, Nike runners, or cowboy boots which are the 3 comfy shoe options in my closet. I guess it’s a menu of sour fruit and soup for the next week. And knowing me and my love of ice cream, it’ll be blister pads and Advil to soothe my aching feet the day after I wear “the dress”.
