Lady Railroaders Win Durand 44, Beecher 31 Sarah Dunavant scored seven of her 12 points in the second quarter to help Durand beat visiting Flint Beecher 44-31 in girls basketball Thursday. Alexis Ayala scored all 12 of her points in the second half, Nicole Waterman finished with nine points, and Samantha Kingsbury grabbed eight rebounds. “Our defense helped in the second quarter,” Durand coach Marv Allen said. “We had several steals that gave us a quick jump. Our rebounding really helped us tonight. We made an offensive adjustment at halftime, and Alexis took advantage of it and did really good.” Durand (6-3) visits Standish-Sterling at 7:30 p.m. Monday
