Lake Oroville Bicyclists Organization Beginner/Novice Group Road Ride On Saturday, December 14th, start time 10:00 a.m. at the Lakeside Market, 5250 Olive Hwy, Oroville. This bicycle group road ride is perfect for beginning riders or those just starting to build up their mileage (just remember, this will be a slow ride). The ride leader promises that no one will be left behind and no one is too slow to participate. The ride will usually last 2 to 3 hours and well keep to a speed of 13 mph or less. (Note: this route is leaning towards an Novice stage since the group started it has advanced in their skills and endurance.) The route will be Miners Ranch Rd. > Dunstone Dr. > Grubbs Rd. > Palermo-Honcut Hwy > Lower Wyandotte Rd. > Foothill Blvd. > Oro Bangor Hwy > Miners Ranch Rd. > Lakeside Market. The route is close to 23 miles with 1,480 feet of climbing. Helmets are mandatory and head/ear phones are not allowed. Rain will cancel the ride. Again this is a slow ride and no participate will be left behind.
