Land grabbing is a global issue demanding global action and negotiations. For the first time, a company accused of land grabbing activities has accepted to take part in an international meeting with representatives of the affected local communities. Farmers and villagers from Sierra Leone, Cameroon, Côte dIvoire and Cambodia have travelled to Paris to participate in negotiations with Socfin (a Luxembourg-registered company controlled by the prominent French entrepreneur Vincent Bolloré and Belgian businessman Hubert Fabri).
