Last month I joined my colleagues on the House Committee on Natural Resources for a hearing that centered around our national fish hatcheries. We have two mitigation hatcheries in the First District - at Norfork Lake and Greers Ferry Lake - that support over 1,000 jobs and contribute over $5 million in economic activity to their state and region. I believe it is entirely unacceptable to ignore the economic impact of our mitigation hatcheries and the amount of jobs they support.
