Last night when I got back from my hike, my room key didnt work, so I went down to the office. The clerk took the key and says Oh, you checked out today. Actually, I didnt check out today, I told him. And followed up with I wish I was checking out, but I am still here and I really need a shower, so can I please have a new key that works? After he gave me the new key, he asked me to come back the next day and straighten out when I will actually be checking out. I dropped by after work, and the same young man was there. He advised that he had checked with the leasing agent and that in fact I was staying until December 31. Not one to argue with a clueless clerk, especially one that was ever so polite, I thanked him and walked away. Geez.
