Last weekend we joined the gorgeous Us model Marlina Moreno for a hike in the beautiful Rwenzori mountains National Park. Though our group only managed to do one night, it was an incredible hike. The mountains are spectacular. Rwenzori recieves a tremendous amount of rainfall compared to other East African Mountains, so the vegetation is lush and beautiful. It has alot of Alpine lakes, rivers and very interesting geology and glacial history.Aside from the beautiful scenery. The mountain ranges are home to a diverse range of biodiversity . For plant lovers, giant lobellia, everlasting flower and bamboo forests will leave you in awe. Indeed if there is a paradise on earth, its found in the Rwenzori mountains. While on the hike, We were able to see the jonhstons three horned Chameloen, a number of tree squirrels, heard vocalizations of Chimpanzees, saw the shy Rwenzori turaco, Rwenzori double collared sunbird and a variety of other bird species. If you are a fan of mountaineering or hiking and planning on a trip to Uganda, this place is a must.
