Last year, a feightened kitten was found inside a garbage bag and thrown into a dumpster. With the efforts of the APL, that kitten was saved, went into a foster home, and eventually adopted. One year ago today, Annie Oakley left the shelter to start a brand new life. Today, we received the following E Mail. We know all our FB followers will love it! Today is the 1 year anniversary of adopting Annie Oakley so I thought it fitting to give you an update! Her new nickname is Pistol Annie! She is quite the pistol! She loves to run and jump on our two older cats who tolerate her antics - at times lots of running around ensues! She absolutely loves playing fetch with toy mice which she will bring back to you for throwing for at least an hour at a time! Boundless energy! You could never tell this little pistol had such a hard beginning! She has continued to bring us joy and laughter everyday and I am very thankful to the Portage APL and foster family for nursing her back to health! She still has a slight head tilt (which you can see in the attached pictures) but it does NOT slow her down one bit! It makes her more endearing when she comes running toward you with the inquisitive head tilt like what are you doing? LOL She is quite smart too! I have a cat treat dispensing ball which requires the cat to have to roll it around until the treats fall out and she is relentless with that toy! When I pick it up to refill it, she sits there and squeaks until I set it back on the floor and then she rolls it around until she gets every last treat out of it! She does have a little issue with sharing but that is understandable based on her beginning in life! She loves to try to steal everyones treats and affection when you pay too much attention to another cat! We love her just the same! She seems to still be a little small for being over 1 year old but we just call her petite! The vet says she is fine! Good things come in small packages! Enjoy the pictures!
