Last year we didnt get Halloween. We were about a week in without power due to Hurricane Sandy. No one knocked on our door- our neighborhood was black. We were roasting marshmallows in our fireplace and eating soup from our food storage. We played flashlight hid and seek to celebrate. I hid under the covers on a top bunk and enjoyed the entire game undiscovered. This year we are experiencing a DIFFERENT kind of Halloween. We live in a neighborhood that will be crawling with candy obsessed children. This will be our FIRST halloween getting Trick-or-Treaters...EVER. Tonight I will be grateful for power and a warm house.
