***Late dinners*** One of the biggest struggles I have when it comes to looking after my waist line is eating late and eating wrong foods and wrong amounts of food when Im feeling peckish in the evenings. Its a vicious circle. Id think: ok, its late, so I wont eat a proper meal, I had my big dinner at work and pre/post exercise snacks and shakes, I shouldnt need much, just a little smth will be enough. So I have a snack. A bit later Im starving and I snack again. And even if my snack is calorie dense, like for instance nuts, I dont seem to get full and satisfied and end up having more. This often means that I will only feel satisfied and stop once Im full full, in other words have overeaten. Sounds like a bindge eating problem, right?:). Lucky I know myself well and can work on breaking this cycle (isnt easy though!!!) For instance, last night I came home just before 10pm. Yes, a bit late for dinner. But I decided to have a plate of relatively light foods rather than a handful of nuts or just fruit to snack on. That meant once I finished my supper - I was finished with food for the day. I find smth warm and savoury works better in registering that Ive eaten and dont need any more. So tonight I boiled some bulgur wheat, steamed some kale, added a pepper from a jar and some salad. It worked!!:)))
