Latest Little Dude update: So-called doctors-0; pissed off/ horrified parents-1. Saturdays visit was a walk into something out of an H. P. Lovecraft story...that was not our child. He was so drugged up on Prozac that he didnt even know we were there...he was licking the FLOOR, among countless other acts!! Had he been in a regular hospital, he would have been restrained with procedures in place to stop this, but KidsPeace hospital just allowed it to continue until we came and saw and started cracking skulls. Long story short, my wife and I mandated he be given no more meds until we spoke with his doctor. Well, we got his nurse practitioner to agree to let him be drug free for a few, then start him on depakote (her suggestion, but sounds like a good fit, but risky side effects). Our visit today showed we made the right call. Still coming down from the Prozac, he was our boy again, and it did our hearts good to see his smile and hear HIS giggle!! This is KidsPeaces one last chance. If the depakote doesnt come close to what we need for him, hes out of there; AMA if need be. Im neither above nor below suing a facility for malpractice, but after what I saw Saturday afternoon, I wont think twice. My son deserves better than this. Our claws are OUT!!
