Latest update on Doyle and Sako Their performances have been good, as have those of the whole side" Kenny Jackett Kenny Jackett has re-affirmed that he will be happy to keep Bakary Sako and Kevin Doyle in the Wolves team providing their performances continue to merit selection. Sako and Doyle, both the subject of speculation linking them with moves elsewhere, have been in good form and played their parts in Wolves’ impressive start to the season which has seen seven points gleaned from the first three games. “They’re both in the team and that’s a good thing,” said Jackett. “Their performances have been good, as have those of the whole side. “They do attract some speculation but really, from my point of view, they’re part of the group and I’m planning for Friday, I’m planning for Port Vale and I’m planning for the Walsall game. “Until something happens, I’m including them. “We’ll see how their standard of play continues but until something happens, or until there is a worthy bid, they are Wolves players.” Jackett has been taking a look at trialist from QPR Hogan Ephraim this week, and is also set to run the rule over Livingston’s Stefan Scougall once he has recovered from injury. He has admitted that work goes on behind the scenes for potential new faces, but that there may not now be substantial incoming business following Sam Ricketts and Kevin McDonald. The Head Coach will however keen an open mind in the remaining days to ensure he believes the squad has enough competition and cover for the months ahead. “I don’t think there will be a considerable amount of business done as we run up to the 2nd of September,” said Jackett. “I think it wil be minimal if anything. “We like to try to do our work and keep it nice and even and consistent if we can in terms of changes. “At present we are working hard at recruitment but I don’t think there is a glaring hole in the team, somewhere where there is not some competition. “We are looking, we are trying to do our homework for the season as a whole because you never know what is going to happen - whether it be injuries or suspensions, or somebody might get bought. “You need to do your work early to react if you need to. “It also depends on form, how the team develops in this division and how we need to improve. “They are the assessments, rather than me saying: ‘I need a right back or a goalkeeper’. “There is not a big hole that I am looking to fill right now. It is about knowing the market and planning for the season ahead. Anything could happen.”
