If you missed the story from a precious post here it is again: Another heartbreaking situation. Abandoned mare. Skin and bones. She was going to be shot but fortunately Janet from Angel Paws was contacted and we went out together to access the situation and make a plan. She will need lots of TLC and is very frightened but what we thought might be a case for euthansia looks better today. There is so much of this happening - farm animals are being let loose with hopes someone will rescue them - hay is so expensive and the economy so bad. People are just desperate. You can barely give a horse away and a free horse is probably a dead horse - going to slaughter for a few dollars. Kit Jagoda from Rivers Wish has been super helpful as always. Will have an update when we know more. Rescue groups from the area are all working together to help her.
