Layla’s light: What do you do when you just “don’t want to” anymore? I’m sure you understand that comment....because we have all been at that point. You may be there right now. There are different levels of this emotion....and some of us have the “I don’t want to’s” on a daily basis. This can simply be habitual thinking....or....you may be experiencing a deep and serious emotion of exasperation. We face roadblocks in our lives that can leave us feeling helpless and hopeless. We take the advice of those around us....and we attempt to “see the positive” and pray, pray, pray. Instead of feeling like we are moving forward towards a new direction.....we feel like we are being faced with even more. How are we supposed to go through even more....when we already felt like we wanted to give up?? Why do things happen to us when we are making even more effort to seek God? These are raw and real human questions. So, what are the answers? Biblical scholars have been trying to answer these questions for centuries. It is not a new subject. We cannot possibly know all the answers to our questions. What we DO know....is that God is not punishing you....or making things happen to you on purpose. God is love....and more than anything....God desires for you to be free from the burdens. Many times we only seek God in a more intimate way....when we become desperate for God’s help. We tend to use God as a temporary fix....instead of relying upon God as our source of existence. God gave us His only Son Jesus Christ. God watched His Son suffer and die for us....so we could be given the opportunity of eternal life. God knows what you are going through today.....and God gave you the ability to seek His help.....and be forgiven and delivered.....through the resurrection of His Son Jesus Christ. We must never forget that we cannot give up.....because God made a way for you to press through. Surrender your heart to Jesus....who is the way....the truth....and the light. Face each day with the hope that we have in Christ Jesus. Build your faith by surrendering each obstacle to God in prayer....not just when you need help....but every single day. Make the effort to build a relationship with God....and He will fight the fight for you....and your life will begin to shift in a new direction. #nevergiveup #newdirection #Jesusistheway “For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.
