Leaves the house in the dark, at 6:30am in Berkeley, to teach first period in SF Potrero Hill... travels to a neighborhood she cant afford to live in (two buses and a train, pays $7.50 one way to get there), to teach children who cant afford to live there either. Students and teacher take buses and trains to arrive at a building in a neighborhood we dont come from and wont ever be able to afford to live in... to learn how to arrive at work on time, how to follow a bell schedule, how to fill out forms, how to meet standards to fulfill the needs of a corporate driven economic system that purposefully keeps folks like us at the bottom... we travel to arrive by 8:15am from around the city, and the Bay, so their parents will know their children are somewhere (safe is questionable), so they can get to work on time to serve that same corporate interest... and I am not going to pretend that this makes sense. I will ask the children... Why? Why are we here? And what are we going to do about it?
